Al Alberts Passes Away at the Age of 87

Al Alberts, a popular singer and television personality, passed away today at the age of 87. A Philadelphia institution, Alberts's singing showcase, Al Alberts' Showcase, helped thousnads of budding young stars get their first chance in front of the spotlight.

Al Alberts was also known for his hit songs "Three Coins in a Fountain" and "Love is a Many Splendored Thing," recorded with the Four Aces. His son Chris said that Alberts passed away from kidney complications.

Alberts is survived by his wife and two sons.
