
Senators in the subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights grilled the former Google CEO about how much Google favors its own services in search results, how its algorithms affect small business and its role and clout in mobile search.
Schmidt was in rare form — no embarrassing gaffes about privacy or how the Senate should use Google search, but there were still some choice quotes from the hearing. Senators Mike Lee from Utah, Al Franken from Minnesota and Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut were full of their own soundbites.
