Al Gore: Nobel's Man Of Peace

Well, Mr. Gore has finally carved out his legacy. Never mind that it is based on faulty science and bad theology. He has convinced humanists at the highest level that not only is man responsible for the changes in our climate, but that man also has the power to correct it. Big dreams, indeed.

As the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Mr. Gore, the spokesman for its foundation alluded to the fact that Gore had convinced them that man is in control of his environment and must act before he loses control.

However, since the Bible informs my worldview on all things, when I heard this statement my theological Spark Counter started bleeping like I'd just hit the motherlode of radioactive uranium. You see, the Bible is very clear that while man has been put in stewardship of God's creation, it is GOD, not man who administers climate change.

'I will make a violent wind break out in My wrath ... flooding rain and hailstones ...' (Ezek 13.13)

'There will be ... dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves' (Lk 21.25)
'The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. Men were scorched with fierce heat ... and huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, came down from heaven upon men ...' (Rev 16.8,9,21)

"And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven"(Luke 21:11). A few verses later, Jesus continues, "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken"(vv. 25-26).

'Acknowledge the Lord, you supernatural beings, acknowledge the Lord’s majesty and power! Acknowledge the majesty of the Lord’s reputation! Worship the Lord in holy attire! The Lord’s shout is heard over the water; the majestic God thunders, the Lord appears over the surging water. The Lord’s shout is powerful, the Lord’s shout is majestic.' (Psalm 29:1-11)

"For to the snow he says, ‘Fall to earth,’ and to the torrential rains, ‘Pour down.’ He causes everyone to stop working, so that all people may know his work. The animals go to their lairs, and in their dens they remain. A tempest blows out from its chamber, icy cold from the driving winds. The breath of God produces ice, and the breadth of the waters freeze solid. He loads the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through the clouds. The clouds go round in circles, wheeling about according to his plans, to carry out all that he commands them over the face of the whole inhabited world. Whether it is for punishment for his land, or whether it is for mercy, he causes it to find its mark." (Job 37:6-13)

I could go on and on. But I won't.

Suffice it to say that awarding Mr. Gore the Peace Prize for a controversial film which is rife with inaccuracies and which is highly debated, is tantamount to publicly pushing God off of His sovereign throne and placing man upon it. Nothing else comes to mind for me but the words of warning from GOD through His servant Isaiah:

"Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity;and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger." (Isaiah 13:9-13)

Man is the master of his climate? Pshaw! Not if God has anything to say about it. And believe me, He does.
