I was introduced to the "6ft-infinity" b-ball player,
Alade
Aminu, at an Atlanta nightclub where none other but Swizz Beats was spinning! I got the chance to catch up with
Alade and thought I'd share what great things he has going on in the community as well as talks of his music interests. Check it out!
MiMi J: So tell me what's going on with you. What's new?
Alade: Right now my focus is on my non-profit organization that I put together with my brother Al-
Farouq
Aminu, called "Brotherhood of the World". We have our 2nd annual youth basketball camp June 12- 13th at
Norcross High School for kids 7-17. Last years event was a success and we look forward to this one.
MiMi J: That's wonderful. So do you plan to keep this local or expand?
Alade: Yeah, we are starting with the youth of Atlanta but definitely plan to branch out. The kids love it and we feel good about bringing something positive to the community.
MiMi J: Will you be returning to the NBA court?:
Alade: Well right now I'm a free agent. I had a short run with Miami Heat and there's some things on the table, so we'll see what happens.
MiMi J: Cool, so what's on the
ipod?
Alade: Man...let's see...Wale, Drake, Lil Wayne, B.O.B...
MiMi J: No Gucci??
Alade:
Hah ..Yeah Gucci and
Waka.
MiMi J:
Ok well thanks for your time! Good luck with the basketball camp!
Alade: Thanks
MiMi. Take care.
