Police closed off roads along most of a city block as Alain Robert made his way up the 718 foot Aurora Place building without safety ropes or a harness, cheered on by about 200 pedestrians. Alain Robert (born as Robert Alain Philippe on 7 August 1962), is a French rock and urban climber, from Dijon, Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne, France. Known as "the French Spider-Man" (after the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man), or "the Human Spider", Robert is famous for scaling skyscrapers.Robert has scaled 85 giant structures around the globe including many of the world's tallest structures, most of which he has scaled using only his bare hands and climbing shoes. On September 1, 2009, one day after Malaysia celebrated its 52nd Independence Day, Robert Alain Philippe has succeeded his third attempt to conquer the KLCC Tower in just only two hour, than arrested after successfully scaling the 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers , city police confirmed. Deputy police chief SAC I Abdul Samah Ahmad said the Frenchman was arrested for criminal tresspass. It was Robert’s third attempt to scale the 88-storey structure, at one time the world’s tallest building.
