According to Tim Sullivan of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the San Diego Padres may soon be trading some of their bullpen stars, including Heath Bell, for offensive help.
Said the paper:
Should some team struggling for closure (Atlanta, St. Louis, Texas?) launch a pre-emptive bid for Bell, the Padres would be obliged to listen — particularly if there’s a ready-for-prime-time bat involved.
