The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center has been called upon to care for a moose calf attacked by dogs. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game contacted the center after picking up the baby moose on Tuesday. Officials say the moose was separated from its mother after being chased around a neighborhood in Talkeetna. The calf is less than a day old and received a severe gash on its back. Some moose remain at the center, while others are reintroduced to the wild. AWCC director Mike Miller warned spectators who see a moose calf never to approach it. "This is the time of year that we really ask people to be aware of their surroundings," Miller said.
