The long time partner of “All My Children” star James Mitchell, who died this past Friday on 23, Jan, 2010 said, Mitchell was a fighter and he fought with severe heart disease for years.
Albert Wolsky released a statement yesterday on Sunday in which he stated that James Mitchell who played the ruthless business tycoon (Palmer Cortland) for over three decades in soap opera “All My Children” died at Cedars Sinai Medical Centre in L.A., after a recent pneumonia attack complicated his long time disease of chronic obstructive pulmonary.
James Mitchell has the privilege to appear in over 300 episodes of the “All My Children”. He starting acting in the soap opera in 1979, he appeared in the most recent episode of the show earlier this month that marked the 40th anniversary of the soap opera.
Mitchell’s partner “Albert Wolsky” said he always loved the role of a mean guy. Albert Wolsky also said, a soap opera gives an opportunity to the actor to develop something because it goes on for a long time.
Albert Wolsky also said, the meaner his role gets, the happier he become. He always loved to play villain.
James Mitchell always enjoyed the role of icy wealthy business tycoon, who exerted his power over his children and Pine Valley, the fabricated town of “All My Children”.
James Mitchell has the privilege to be nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards for seven times for his role in “All My Children”.
Albert Wolsky said, a memorial ceremony will be held at a later date, but did not informed about the funeral plans and date.
