Albuquerque NM Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) Relocation Information

Just got your orders and you’re moving
to Kirtland AFB? Here’s your guide to making your move alot easier!

Kirtland East is home to the 377th Airbase Wing, Airforce Operational Test and Evaluation Center, Sandia National Laboratories, Department of Energy, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Airforce Safety Center and Airforce Inspection Agency. (Source: Kirtland.af.mil)

Kirtland AFB is easily accessible from most areas of Albuquerque via numerous base gates. There’s two 24-hour visitor gates. One is located on Wyoming, south of Central, and the other at Truman and Gibson. The Gibson gate (at Louisiana) is open from 0500 to 2000.

KAFB School Resources

Kirtland is serviced by Albuquerque Public Schools. Located on Kirtland AFB is Sandia Base Elementary School. Go Mustangs!

Kirtland Area Neighborhoods

Four Hills, conveniently located by the Eubank gate, is comprised of single-family homes and townhomes. Four Hills includes the Four Hills Country Club and Golf Course. Read more about scenic Four Hills.

No matter where you choose to live in the Southeast Heights, there is a convenient Kirtland base gate. Southeast Heights consists of single-family homes, townhomes, and condos, and includes the new neighborhoods of Willow Wood and Volterra, featuring a large park, community center, school, and shopping.
