According to the Walmart  Pharmacy Website for their $4 prescription plan, Walmart has a HFA albuterol inhaler for sale for $9. This would be a significant cost reduction compared to currently available rescue inhalers since the CFC to HFA transition. (formerly MicroDose Technologies) announced that it has initiated a Phase I study at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with atropine sulfate delivered from the MicroDose proprietary dry powder inhaler (DPI). A new study shows people who use an inhaler occasionally fare about the same as people who take a daily pill or dose from the inhaler. Researchers said both groups had the same number of severe asthma attacks and changes in lung function and reported similar quality of life.
