Alec Baldwin Has Been Going Nuts on Twitter

In addition to his many tweets, Alec Baldwin has been posting around 1.7 images per week. In this photo, he's having dinner with a guy named "Jimmy." (From Twitter.com/AlecBaldwin) Alec Baldwin's Twitter is hilarious. The actor has gone nuts on the site since he joined in May, and while he occasionally gets a little heavy on the political stuff, there's still plenty of room for laughs. Here's an abridged version of all the things we've learned about Alec just in the last month.

1. He must have a spare iPhone battery.

Since joining Twitter in May, the Alpha Baldwin has blasted 2,302 tweets, amassing an audience of about 325,000 followers who are treated to 22.6 tweets per day. The three pictures of Alec and his iPhone above are just the tip of the iceberg. Based on the patterns we've seen it looks like he checks in every few hours to rifle through the many tweets directed his way, respond to a surprising number of fans, and drop a few nuggets of wisdom on we small people who live in His shadow.

With that sort of devotion, we figure he's got to have a spare battery on hand for the inevitable moments when that iPhone runs out of juice. Not surprisingly when one Twitter follower asked, "what's your vice?," he responded, "Twitter."

2. Beware his wrath, o ye who cross the Mighty Baldwin

This week when Alec was unhappy with a snippy Starbucks barista, he didn't hesitate to call him out. He wrote: "Starbucks on 93 and B'way. Uptight Queen barrista named JAY has an attitude problem."

Alternately, when Alec is happy with his service, his magnanimity knows no bounds. Shortly after lodging his very unofficial complaint with Starbucks, he wrote: "Clyde, on the other hand, outside DINOSAUR BARBECUE @ W 125 n H RIVER is MY MAN. Keeping the hickory ovens going, he is 2dayz Coolest NYer."

3. He's very proud of his new Ben & Jerry's flavor

When news broke this week that Ben & Jerry's would be releasing a new ice cream flavor based on Alec's Saturday Night Live character Pete Schweddy (it's actually called Schweddy Balls), he proudly spread the news in a series of six tweets. He wrote: "Mama Schweddy is proud of her boy. Schweddy Balls Ice Cream. From the secret Schweddy Family recipe."

4. He's not fond of Rick Perry... or the rest of the GOP for that matter

Alec makes no attempt to hide his politics on Twitter. The actor is proud to sit left of center, and won't hesitate to snipe at Republicans. One user recently asked, "What concerns you most about Rick Perry?” He answered: "Perry is another entitled, opportunistic phony who has little or no grasp of what govt.'s most effective and egalitarian role can be."

He then concedes that "Twitter is a poor place to discuss politics."

5. He'll get cute with his girlfriend in public

While many celebs remain secretive about their love lives, Alec is happy to get cutesy with his new girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, on Twitter. In one instance a few days ago, he randomly wrote "Buenos dias @hilariathomas." And with so many snide comments about the obvious age gap between them he wrote: "How many friggin' times I gotta say it? 27. She's 27. Jeez."

6. He loves music
