To say that Satanist Aleister Crowley was a baaaaaaaaad man would be an understatement. But before we get to who this man was and the influence he has had on this world, let us tell you a little bit about just where this guy stood morally. He said "I simply went over to Satans side and I do not know why." Crowley also said "I was not content to just believe in Satan, I wanted to be his chief of staff". Chemical Wedding : Aleister Crowley fantasy

During the summer a film titled Chemical Wedding, premiered at the 7th Annual London International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film . The film attempts to resurrect the English mage, Aleister Crowley. It has been billed as an 'occult thriller' but 'flaky fantasy' might be the more accurate description. The original screenplay was written by Bruce Dickinson, front man of the metal band Iron Maiden. In Chemical Wedding the Professor Haddo character, played by Simon Callow, is... Read Full Story

Aleister Crowley - “The Wickedest Man Alive” (until 1947)

From:  peebs.net
That is quite a statement!  The quotation refers directly to ex-Plymouth Brother Aleister Crowley.  Much has been written about this man, who was brought up in a strict Plymouth Brethren home full of rules and enforced piety.  It is a psychologist’s dream - the study of what could turn a member of a Plymouth Brethren home into one of the most influential Paganists of the 20th century. Most professional opinion seems centered upon a simple rebellion against a restrictive childhood. It is a... Read Full Story

Scientology : L. Ron Hubbard's Association with Aleister Crowley and the OTO

If his detractors had their way, L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology , would be caricatured as little more than a colorful conman with a knack for writing science fiction. Brilliant, multi-dimensional people such as Hubbard are frequently misunderstood. Personal idiosyncrasies are presented as defining characteristics - a judgment that is about as trite as it gets. Focusing on Hubbard's shortcomings in an effort to undermine his credibility, and by extension the credibility of... Read Full Story

Jimmy Page and Aleister Crowley: deciphering the mage

“ I have been accused of being a “black magician.” No more foolish statement was ever made about me. I despise the thing to such an extent that I can hardly believe in the existence of people so debased and idiotic as to practice it. ” - Aleister Crowley Jimmy Page photo above, taken by Herb Greene, 1968.  Page’s interest in Crowley would be, like Crowley himself, grossly misrepresented and misunderstood.  Perhaps even maligned.  In the early 1970s, Jimmy Page owned an occult... Aleister Crowley

From:  supersimbo.net
I have been enjoying the Led Zeppelin book a lot over the last few weeks, not rushing through but pondering the re-telling of their legendary and controversial superstardom. I knew this guy would come up in the story due to Jimmy Page's fascination with him. Crowley was raised within the Exclusive Brethren Movement, a more conservative faction of the Plymouth Brethren. His upbringing similar in that respect to mine. I would say gladly, that is where the similarities end. I am intrigued by... Read Full Story
