Alek Wek, born April 16, 1977, is a Sudanese model. She is one of the most famous models in the world, and designs a line of handbags called "Wek 1933."

Supermodel Alek Wek joins Nigerian/German singer and song writer, Ayo, as the Face of Banana Republic’s Heritage Campaign. She is the second African to headline the Heritage collection, a collection “defined by timeless designs, authentic details and luxurious fabrics.”
