William Alexander "Alex" Chilton (December 28, 1950 – March 17, 2010), an American songwriter, guitarist, singer and producer best known for his work with the pop-music bands the Box Tops and Big Star, died yesterday at 59. It seemed fitting to honor this influential artist with a Flashback Friday nod.
