For this year’s Record Store Day, the now-defunct LCD Soundsystem contributed to Franz Ferdinand’s Covers EP; returning the favor for FF’s cover of LCD’s masterwork, “All My Friends” back in 2008.
James Murphy & Friends chose to cover “Live Alone,” from the Scottish band’s 2009 album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. Eight months later, you can watch visuals of a sun soaked New York City, a neon, enflamed mechanical heart and other weird stuff, all soundtracked by LCD Soundsystem’s sprawling, seven-and-a-half minute cover.
