Many otherwise intelligent people think the web statistics purveyed by Alexa and Compete.com are reliable, when in reality they’re usually rough estimates which they derive  from their own data sources, not actual metering from the  sites they list. Anyone know whats going on with the Alexa ratings lately? I’ve been running about the same traffic for the last two weeks or so, but yesterday my daily Alexa rank dropped to 69,000.
