Getty Images. Experts had predicted a somber season of blacks and grays from Paris Fashion Week, branding the economic downturn an impetus towards safe, classic looks. But it seems the global financial crisis has had little to no effect on the trajectory of modern design this season, as evidenced by the fantastical collection showcased by Alexander McQueen Tuesday. McQueen has is mind in the clouds - namely, among the birds. Having transformed his catwalk into a trash heap ( Zoolander -esque... Read Full Story

British designer Alexander McQueen proved the sky is the limit when he sent models down the runway at his Spring / Summer 2010 fashion show in Paris last night in 12-inch elevated platform shoes. A tall order for anyone to walk in, it’s a miracle that nobody fell on the runway wearing the shoe boots.
The python version of Alexander McQueen’s runway shoes, the armadillos , just arrived at British Vogue ’s offices. The staffers at Vogue wanted to see if you can actually walk in these... Read Full Story

Alexander McQueen Spring Ready-To-Wear 2010. Photos courtesy of Style.com Either Paris Fashion Week organizers had 'save the best for last' in mind or designer's calculated move to show their collections nearing the end of the event. In my opinion, it doesn't matter when designers showcase their collection. If their collection is memorable, it will be remembered. A day before the last full line-up of anticipated collections. Avant-garde designer Alexander McQueen embarked on a journey to... Read Full Story

Alexander McQueen is one of my favorite designers because he makes the most fupe looking clothes look desirable. He has pushed the boundaries (once again) by taking houndstooth and tweeds and turning them upside down, inside out and around creating a completely new and fresh look. With umbrella hats and trash bag inspired fabrics, McQueen made the strange , chic. McQueen sent out models with exaggerated... Read Full Story
Massive Meatpacking District post. It feels like it's been awhile since I've focused on my beloved district that packs meat. I think it's because it turned from being just me on the street at any given time to Disneyland because of the Highline. I'm sure businesses are enjoying more people probing and buying but I enjoyed my smelly isolated streets.

MePa has been going through a lot of changes, these are some new artistic additions... Read Full Story

Update! If you can't get on the site, don't worry. Showstudio is getting high volume and is trying to sort it out. The good news is there's word from Paris that the show won't start for a bit, I'd check in again at 9 pm Paris time. Hang in there, it will be well worth the wait! I cannot wait for this. Luckily it's scheduled to start in just over two hours, not taking into consideration the standard half hour delay for fashion shows. But I'm guessing Lee McQueen has everything calibrated to... For The Full-Size HQ - Click Shot Well it's here. After months of waiting in unspeakable torment, the campaign for Alexander McQueen's Fall 2009 Men's collection is finally here. The collection that I like to refer to as, one of the strongest men's showing in the past decade. Which surly, I know that I am not the only one that feels that way. Channel what you would get if Jack the Ripper and Sweeny Todd were to join forces and create a 45 look collection, McQueen sticks with one of the key... Read Full Story
