Alexander McQueen to be Honored at CFDA Awards

McQueen will be honored posthumously. Last month, the death of designer Alexander McQueen sent shockwaves through the fashion industry, with everyone from Naomi Campbell to Sarah Jessica Parker calling attention to the late designer's genius. Now, the Council of Fashion Designers of America has announced that they will honor McQueen posthumously with the Board of Directors Special Tribute award.Other award winners include Michael Kors, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Iman, who is to be named Fashion Icon. The rest of the winners will be announced at the June 7 awards gala. This year, most of the buzz is focused on the Emerging Talent award - Joseph Altuzzara, Prabal Gurung, and Jason Wu are all nominated.
