Hydrochlorothiazide is an unfamiliar term to most Tour de France fans, but the diuretic (commonly used for kidney disease patients) has found its way into the competitive cycling world as an effective method of masking other drug use.Unfortunately, Russian racer Alexandr Kolobnev tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide in a mid-tour test conducted last Wednesday, July 6, leading him to drop out of the race on Monday.
