Alexandra Forbes Kerry, the daughter of Sen. John Kerry, has been arrested in Hollywood for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
L.A. police report that officers stopped the 36-year-old Alexandra Kerry on a street in Hollywood at around 12:40 a.m. Thursday and she subsequently failed a field sobriety test.
Kerry's blood alcohol level was .06, which is just below the legal limit of .08. Under California law, a driver can still be prosecuted, even under the legal limit of .08, if the vehicle in question is being operated unsafely due to alcohol.
Officer Bruce Borihanh says she was taken down to the Hollywood police station where she was then held for about five hours. She was set free at around 5:30 a.m. after posting $5,000 bail.
“Officers detected signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol,” said Officer Borihanh.
Alexandra Kerry is the oldest daughter of senator from Massachusetts senator, who was also the Democrats' 2004 presidential nominee.
Alexandra has produced documentaries and has had several small acting roles.
