Thousands cheered as Kazakh Alexandre Vinokourov rode up the final climb to get third place on stage 12 of the Tour de France.  The Stage was held on July 16, 2010 in Mende, France. The day's ride started in Bourg-de-Peage and included the La Croix Neuve pass which is nearly 1.2 miles in length with an average gradient of more than 10%.
