Less than a year before the launch of MINI's new five-door crossover model in autumn 2010, the BMW Group-owned brand will display another take on the SUV theme with the Beachcomber Concept at the Detroit motor show in January 2010. The door-less concept study is based on the firm's crossover model and according to MINI, "it... Read Full Story

We were supposed to get the first official photos of the 147's replacement (see factory spy shots here and here ) on Monday, November 30, but according to a report from Autonews, Alfa Romeo has postponed the presentation of its new premium hatch to an unspecified date because of bickering between the company and its current and former... GadgetHeat used to refer to the Alfa Romeo car company as a poor man’s Ferrari (and it was meant in the nicest possible way, promise). Enter stage left the Alfa Romeo Mi.To. A beauty of a beast and definitely one for the BMW 1 Series to be looking in it’s rear-view mirror for as it comes roaring down the high-way.

Now you may be thinking, hold-on, I thought this was a gadget blog not an automobile fan forum and you would be right except what are cars but... Read Full Story

The first thought that leaped into mind upon seeing the CH26 was something like - "oh, another MINI - Alfa Romeo Mito potpourri baked in China". We could be wrong, but from what we gather, China has nothing to do with the tiny city car that is the work of a French company called Chatenet. Measuring just over 3 meters (3,065mm to be precise), the CH26 is 370mm or about 4-inches... Read Full Story
Alfa Romeos are known as a poor man’s Ferrari. A car built with Italian soul, and passion, that anybody can drive. Well, unless you live here in North America, where the brand hasn’t existed in quite some time. Plagued by temperamental build quality (hey, you wanted Italian passion right?), and poor service from an even worst dealer network, Alfa didn’t last a chance in a country were “it better get me to work” means a hell of a lot more than “it better set my soul a’ fire when I drive it... At the recent Geneva Salon, Alfa Romeo introduced a new 1.75-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine for its 159 sports saloon and Sportwagon models that adopt the same designation as one of the most well known sedans ever made by the Italian firm, the 1750 Berlina that was launched in the late 1960s. With the new engine that develops 200HP, the front-wheel drive 159 1750 TBi accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 7.7 while its top speed is 235km/h or 146mph. If you follow the jump, you... No, Alfa Romeo has not launched a new cut price version of its MiTo hatchback. Instead, the Italian firm published a clever press release pointing out that thanks to the UK Government's scrappage scheme that incentivizes motorists of cars aged 10 years or older to trade up to a brand new model with a £1,000 discount, the entry-level MiTo 1.4 16V Turismo now costs £8,995. According to the Italian firm, the last Alfa Romeo to be sold in Britain for under £9,000 was the five door Alfa 33 in... Read Full Story
For all the effort and good work Rayvolution Cars may have put into its GSX R-750 powered trike kit, the result isn’t exactly catchy. For all the steel tube chassis, front suspension from the Mazda MX-5, wider tires and all other additions can’t take our mind off a single thing. The front is Alfa Romeo- esque , which would have infact been a good thing, only if the front did not look like a gutted Alfa Romeo. When you choose a design like the Alfa Romeo for a base, you set the bar very high... Read Full Story
