Passengers Stranded On a Train In a Blizzard Sue The Metropolitan Transportation Authority

New York –One year after they were stranded on an A train during a blizzard, a group of 25 people is suing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.  The train was stuck for about eight hours in several feet of snow and the passengers were without heat, food and water.  New York City Transit President Thomas Prendergast said that MTA officials forgot about the train.  This was a train that was above ground.  Some of the passengers suffered illnesses as a result of being stranded.  The MTA said it has upgraded its snow removal equipment and changed its procedures for harsh weather conditions preventing this type of situation to occur again.
