Faye's Five

By b3nj0t on  From weekin-pictures.blogspot.com
I don't have a plan.   I'm not sure if I've ever been much of a long-range planner. I've always been more of a survivor and a take-advantage-of-an-opportunity type. If a job opened up that I wanted but was not quite qualified for, I went out and got the training or whatever was needed to be seriously considered for the position. And I've had a fairly successful life so far. Serendipity has been good to me. And for the past few years, all that I have focused on is survival so I didn't feel as...Read Full Story

A long and winding road...

By b3nj0t on  From weekin-pictures.blogspot.com
Went on another trip down memory lane this morning. One of the contributors to the local paper had written an article titled "If it ends in a '2', it's bound to be a good year". So, I took a trip back to 2002. The first challenge was 'where are the photos'? I wasn't sure about online galleries (though I would find them there also), so I went to the physical album. Looking through the trips to Florida, New York, the mountains and waterfalls of the Carolinas and Tennessee brought back lots of...Read Full Story

One thing leads to another...

By b3nj0t on  From weekin-pictures.blogspot.com
This morning I went hunting a particular photo from... one year ago? Two? This happens often; I go looking for one thing and find something else. What I found today stopped me in my tracks. Words left as a comment on one of my galleries from someone who, before that year was out, would walk away from her home - never to be seen again. She had battled depression for a long time and finally one day, she could fight no more. Donné, thank you for these words: "I do not know you - but the beauty...Read Full Story

Stacked

By b3nj0t on  From weekin-pictures.blogspot.com
“Art is not to be found by touring to Egypt, China, or Peru;  if you cannot find it at your own door, you will never find it.”  - Ralph Waldo Emerson I firmly agree with RWE on this point. I really like this image and it's certainly something I see on a daily basis. And the bowl I usually need is on the bottom of the stack.  Although I love my photos taken in far away places, I love the ones from own door just as much. A photo of a leopard resting in a tree is my treasure; evoking memories...Read Full Story

Don't go in the garden shed...

By b3nj0t on  From weekin-pictures.blogspot.com
I think that garden/tool sheds have a definite masculine energy. While men might consider them a necessity, a utility space for their tools, mowers, etc and think of them fondly,  I find them spooky. I never open the shed door without wondering what might have crawled inside and is waiting for me. Too many movies, I suppose.  But I wanted to see if there was an additional rake inside before going off to buy a new one, so I (deep breath) took the padlock key and set off (camera in hand) on my...Read Full Story

Golden

By b3nj0t on  From weekin-pictures.blogspot.com
Ahhhhh, what a difference a day makes. I have a plan... well, the beginnings of a plan. Nothing too life-altering, but enough of a challenge for me. Today is a brighter day, in spite of a bad dream and waking to thunder storms. I love the fact that pansies survive the winter, in fact they thrive on it. P.S. Sometimes the universe knows best and should not be questioned. ;-)Read Full Story
