Alison Mosshart: demure muse or Kate Moss wannabe
By Adina Laura Achim

“My little tornado/ My little hurricano”, these words seem to be the perfect introduction for an androgynous beauty, not really a tomboy or a rock chick to the core, but The Kills female singer, is all of that and so much more.

In the past months the British band, made headlines not only due to Jamie Hince’s relationship with Kate Moss a.k.a Kate the Great, or because of their cool tracks, but also due to its front woman, Alison Mosshart.

The American born, lady of rock has already armies of followers who try to steal all the secrets of her shabby chic style.

Her allure comes from the capacity of combining high end items as the Dior Homme Gold boots or Anne Demeulemeester jumpers with plain t-shirts which she wears constantly, ignoring style constrictions, like: don’t be photographed in the same outfit, twice!

Mosshart mixes together textures and fabrics, coming up with combinations which imply oversized, vintage tees paired with leather or fur jackets, animal print shirts over Marc Jacobs t-shirts, some eclectic rock star type accessories and amazing hats. Add to this sexy cocktail a wild, unabashed personality, and you can be assured that you’ll become overnight a style icon, adored by so many.

While some of you might find both the attitude and her wardrobe, extremely inspirational, others are outraged, accusing Mosshart of copying that effortless chic-ness from her frenemy Kate Moss.

The tight skinny jeans, high boots, the passion for worn in t-shirts, or the rock star leather jackets, are all key elements which can be found in Kate’s wardrobe and which she brought to life through her eclectic style. While Moss is a never ending surprise to all the fashion lovers, being a constant fount of inspiration, the other models, IT girls and singers, who came after her, don’t manage to enter in the Olympus of eternal style icons, being merely muses for the masses.

Now, the question which naturally arises in our fashion loving minds is: do you Alison Mosshart posses an innate style or you’re just borrowing some of Kate’s style secrets?
