Reigning US women's figure skating champion Alissa Czisny on Saturday won the Oberstdorf Trophy, a qualifying event for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Leading after the short programme, Czisny ranked just sixth in the free programme but managed to finish ahead of Finland's Kiira Korpi and Liu Yan of China. So Alissa has an important competition beginning tomorrow. She has to compete against her biggest competitor...herself. Alissa Czisny is the easy favorite to win the 2008 U.S. Collegiate Championships which kick off tomorrow in Denver (Arvada, CO to be exact). As the only ladies competitor in the field to see a podium finish at U.S. Nationals for Senior Ladies, it should be a cake walk.
