J’Adore Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette by Christian Dior are very different perfumes. Although the Eau de Parfum was launched before, the Eau de Toilette is more popular. Here is a complete review of both.

J’Adore Eau de Parfum

The opening is more floral than the Eau de Toilette, the floral is more intense and dense. The flower could be an orchid or the Champaca flower of the family of magnolias, as specified in the official notes. In the middle phase there are notes of rose, plus other more complex florals, like violet. Other florals of this phase are the orchid of the opening and jasmine. In the base notes there are still intense and concentrated floral notes like in the beginning.

The density and intensity of the perfume make it more suitable for the cold season. Compared to the Eau de Toilette it feels more mature, less feminine and less cheerful. On the romantic side, it can be seducing, but it seems like the main purpose was to draw attention than being attractive. It could be used in the summer, but it gives the impression that, under certain conditions, like how closed spaces, it could be intrusive and almost annoying. As it is a sophisticated fragrance, it is somehow wasted for simple, everyday social occasions. The ideal age range stars from 30 years.

J’Adore Eau de Toilette is easy to recognize thanks to its characteristic and unique aromatic structure of magnolias, roses and plums.

The opening is with fresh bergamot and other fresh fruity notes. The floral notes of magnolia and rose are also fresh. In the middle notes there is a drastic change: the fruity notes are much less intense and roses become dominant. Given their sweetness, they could be either Bulgarian, May or (according to the box) Turkish roses.

The base notes are the signature of this fragrance, with magnolia as dominant plus plums and roses in the background. There are also soft woods and spices bit they do not interfere with the main aroma.

The fresh floral style is quite flexible for different uses, both in the office and outside, both in summer and in winter.

It is feminine and pleasant, not intrusive, and slightly addictive. It is therefore suitable for a romantic use and for a night use in general, thanks to its intensity and personality, but in this case it will work better during the summer. The ideal age range is between 20 and 45 years.
