My Dog Daisy
This is Daisy. About two years ago, I wandered into our local dog pound and inquired about any puppies they might have. The animal control officer pointed her out to me. "If she is not adopted out today, she will be euthanized tomorrow. Her time's up", he said matter of factly. She looked at me with big hopeful eyes, her tail spinning in circles.
"I'll take her", I told the animal control guy. Then I thought, "Oh my gosh, what have I done? I had not even told my husband I was going to the pound, and now here I was carrying home a large, five-month old black lab mix, who was surely going to get much bigger. We already had ten-year old Sadie, a Welsh Corgi mix. She was the queen of the house, and she was very protective of her turf.
But, it turned out all right. Both dogs adjusted and today Daisy is a silly, lovable and precious addition to our family.
