Allen Iverson Newsday is reporting that the Knicks have apparently decided not to offer Allen Iverson a contract. A source close to the Knicks told beat writer Alan Hahn that management had a lot of interest in the former All-Star but decided to pass. The Knicks’ record currently sits at 2-9 and are second to last in the Eastern Conference. With point guard Chris Duhon struggling , acquiring Iverson would not only fill a need but would bring back excitement to the Garden. We at the Dime office are strong advocates of A.I. being a Knick, so we are hoping the rumor isn’t true. ... Read Full Story

A source tells Dime Magazine that Allen Iverson might sign with the Knicks today. According to the source who works for a New York media outlet, a Knicks press conference is scheduled at the Garden at noon today. We assume this is reguarding Allen Iverson. Newsday also confirms that the Knicks are on the verge of signing the former NBA MVP. Iverson doesn’t clear waivers until 6 pm tonight, so any team can claim him with his current salary with Memphis. But if nobody claims him off waivers, Iverson is free to sign with anybody. We’ll keep you posted. Read Full Story

Outside of Northern California the hotbed for NBA drama has been in the Allen Iverson camp. We watched as arguably the greatest pound for pound, inch for inch scorer and future Hall of Famer was left flailing in the wind during free agency. We scratched our heads when he signed with Memphis and none of us were surprised when the Grizzlies granted him his release. Now we are left to wonder where Allen Iverson will land since he has made it clear he is not ready to stay retired. For today’s Reebok Still Talkin’ Quote if the Day we look to ESPN’s Chad Ford ... When Allen and the Grizzlies split ways earlier in the week , the immediate reaction out of New York seemed to be something along the lines of “No way in hell are we going to sign him.” But this afternoon the New York Times’ Howard Beck says that the Knicks are now expected to pursue Iverson : Read Full Story

Allen, I’m going to be frank here: you’re out of answers. Due to no fault of your own, your reputation in this league has been tarnished, downsized and spat on. The media has played no small part in your fall from grace and are one of the main catalysts for this growing fetish around the league involving you and coming off the bench. You deserve better. I know it, you know it and honestly so do most of the GMs and coaches around the league...

Call me crazy, and I acknowledge this could be a risky move, but I think I have the answer to the question of what team should sign Allen Iverson? It's the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. This could potentially be a good deal for both the team and the player for a myriad of reasons, provided Iverson is willing to play for discount. Now, I'm no NBA cap expert so maybe this is completely impossible but if (and that's a big IF) the Lakers and...

NEW YORK — For a New Yorker who three years in a row purchased season tickets a section removed from the 76ers' bench just to be assured of the opportunity to be entertained by Allen Iverson whenever in Philadelphia, it's distressing to see his career tumbling (bouncing out of Graceland) so unhappily and dishonorably. Two seasons ago, Iverson was an All-Star, averaging 26.4 points for a Nuggets team summarily swept by the Lakers in the...

Allen Iverson is officially out of options. The New York Knicks even turned him down. It is amazing how delusional the GM's and executives are in the NBA. They don't want to sign a player who can still average 25-30 points per game and carry a team to the playoffs if he is in the right situation. They say Iverson is a distraction and that they think he stunts the younger players growth. What they really think is that he is a thug who is...

New York Knicks President Donnie Walsh summed it up perfectly when he said that although Allen Iverson is a terrific player his team is going in a different direction, and he hopes that he is able to land with a team that could use him. Coach Mike D'antoni echoed those sentiments saying that Iverson would take away minutes from his younger players who are still in their developmental stage. For the record, that's two of the worst teams in the...

The Memphis Grizzlies and guard Allen Iverson recently came to an understanding that things simply weren’t going to work out. Iverson was waived, and became a free agent. There have been rumblings that the Knicks were strongly considering adding the former All-Star and league MVP, but apparently it isn’t going to happen. Howard Beck of the New [...]

As you all know, the Allen Iverson era in Memphis came to an end this past week as the Grizzlies and Iverson came to a mutual agreement to part ways. Iverson spent just under two months in Memphis, but it was quite clear that this situation simply was not going to work, not only for Iverson himself, but for the Grizzlies franchise as well. Today, Allen Iverson cleared waivers and is able to sign with another NBA team. There are reports...
