An emotional Alonzo Mourning get teary-eyed as his jersey is retired in Miami Monday night at American Airlines Arena. In a sterling 15-year NBA career, Mourning captured an NBA championship with the HEAT in 2006, seven All-Star berths and twice was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Mourning, who also captured a gold medal with the United States Senior National Team at the 2000 Olympics, appeared in 838 games with the HEAT, Charlotte Hornets and New Jersey Nets and averaged 17.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.81 blocked shots, 1.1 assists and 31.0 minutes while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor and 69.2 percent ...
