Willa Beasley, 65, was going through a nasty divorce with Alton Beasley long before the murder suicide.  Alton was a 61-year-old man who Willa claimed "drank up everything that we had".  Willa complained of his spending habits and their financial problems.

"I had to leave the Defendant due to his mental and physical abuse," Willa Beasley said in a sworn statement. "If I did not leave, I don't believe that I would be alive much longer."
