Alycia Lane pics and news. Alycia Lane co-anchors the weekday 6 P.M. and 11 P.M. newscasts on KYW-TV.
She also hosts a weekly segment which airs at 4 P.M. entitled "A Woman's View."
Alycia Lane first made national news when she sent bikini pictures of herself to Rich Eisen. She then made news again in December 2007 when she punched a cop.
Philly news anchor fired over hitting NYPD officer
Philadelphia television station KYW-TV has canned their news making anchor Alycia Lane after allegations surfaced that she slugged a New York City police officer.
The station released a statement that Lane "has been released from her contract effective immediately."
This isn't the first time this news anchor has been the subject of news herself. Lane once made headlines for e-mailing skimpy pics of herself to a married ESPN sports anchor. She also tearfully discussed her divorce on the "Dr. Phil" show.
"After assessing the overall impact of a series of incidents resulting from judgments she has made, we have concluded that it would be impossible for Alycia to continue to report the news as she, herself, has become the focus of so many news stories," station president and general manager Michael Colleran said in the statement.
Lane's attorneys accused KYW of violating her contract and has a good argument since the news lady hasn't broken any laws.
Lane has been married to a minor league baseball player and later to a North Carolina businessman. Recent reports link her romantically with Chris Booker, a local radio DJ who was with her when she was arrested in New York.
I guess you can't make the gossip rags and have respect while delivering the news.
