Just a day of rest for Tabata, who was in Clint Hurdle's doghouse late last week and is hitting just .223/.272/.338 through 159 plate appearances this year. Gorkys Hernandez will start in his place in left field and bat second.  

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Pirates have designated outfielder Nate McLouth for assignment and recalled infielder/outfielder Matt Hague from Triple-A Indianapolis. McLouth was hitting .140 with two RBI in 34 games for the Pirates this season.  

Tabata botched a pair of plays in left field, but Pirates manager Clint Hurdle was most concerned with his failure to bust it down the line on a tapper in front of the plate which resulted in an inning-ending double play in the top of the ninth.  

For a brief period of time the Pirates called up Evan Meek, but after one bad relief appearance he was sent back down for Gorkys Hernandez. The question that remains is who takes Presley's spot in the outfield? My first choice would be Garrett Jones.
