Amanda Knox Trial

On December 4, 2009, an Italian court found Amanda Knox guilty of the murder and sexual assault of Meredith Kercher. Nearly two years later, on October 3, 2011, a jury overturned all murder charges and set the American free.
Amanda Knox returns to the court room in Perugia for her appeal in the Meredith Kercher murder trial. The court heard from Italian State Police DNA expert Patrizia Stefanoni - who defended the forensic methods used in the initial examinations.

Knox Acquitted of All Murder Charges
Amanda Knox's American passport may have expired, but she'll nevertheless be returning home as quickly as possible: On October 3, 2011, the Seattle native was freed of all murder charges. Her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito was also cleared and set free.
