A movie about porn star legend Linda Lovelace would be much more than just a simple biopic, it would be about the dark relationship she shared with her husband Chuck Traynor. Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard would played as Lovelace and Traynor respectively.
As aforementioned the movie would not be a linear biopic that tells the tale from birth to death with some sex appeal added in for a twist. The movie would be based on Eric Danville‘s biography The Complete Linda Lovelace, which traces her progression from unknown to unlikely mainstream icon, to anti-porn activist. But the reason why you are seeing a recent flood of new images is because filming is still currently in progress and any footage from the movie won’t be seen for quite a while.
But we have new images, courtesy of The New York Times. The newspaper recently ran a feature on the movie and described as so:
Casting proved an overall challenge for “Lovelace”: women were concerned about the nudity and the brutality, while the agents of male performers withheld the script, written by Andy Bellin, from their clients. “They read it,” said Heidi Jo Markel, a “Lovelace” producer, “and they said, ‘I wouldn’t give it to our actor, because he’d do it, and we’re scared.’ ”
Since the material itself is already painted with such dark colors, its easy to understand why the statement was made.
Lovelace also features Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Wes Bentley, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, James Franco, Eric Roberts, Adam Brody, Chloe Sevigny and Sarah Jessica Parker.
