Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Actor, Filmmaker, Model, Activist, Innovator, Blogger. I'm pretty sure there are a lot more terms to describe the 28-year old Joe. I'm not going to mention his list of movies anymore or why tMF loves to feature him regularly since - obviously - we've already put him at the top of tMF's 50 Hottest Young Actors.

Esquire Interview: I also wanted to mention his interview at Esquire, which I enjoyed very much. I'm quoting some of what Joe said:
On the tragedy of being an actor today: Today's a great time to be any creative type of person, I think, and in just about every aspect of creativity, this generation is going to blow away every generation ever. Because we're the first ones with the Internet. I can get together with some friends, shoot a movie, cut it on my laptop at home, and then put it online. We don't have to listen to anyone.
On Women and money: I have a lot of trouble getting turned on by girls who are turned on by a celebrity.
On Hollywood and crap:One, in case you haven't noticed, most of what Hollywood puts out is crap anyway. And two, here's the new art of the twenty-first century: the art of curating, that art of plucking all the good stuff from a superabundance of crap. And then, when everything's online, you can check out the recommendations of people, of curators, you trust. On any given night, your chances of being able to watch a good movie will be higher. Why should you watch something that's not great?
I'm pretty impressed whenever Gael Garcia Bernal do an interview. He always provide the most elquent of answers. But I have to say, Joe can also come up with some impressive responses. The combination of wit, sarcasm and authenticity is simply refreshing. You know there is no agent lurking behind telling the actor what to say and how to say it, as in the case of so many others...
Upcoming and Highly Anticipated New Movie: 500 Days of Summer, his latest movie, will soon hit the big screen and there are lots of new materials to enjoy - amazing teaser trailers + new movie stills. But even without the press, 500 days of Summer is definitely the summer movie to watch. Fox Searchlight just launched a new interactive website, and you simply have to see it!

Josh Tyler @Cinema Blend in his film review comments on Joe and Zooey's performance:
Levitt is utterly brilliant at Tom, a hopeless romantic who believes he has at long last found the perfect girl. We're with him as he struggles to get up the nerve to ask her out, makes a fool of himself at karaoke, and gets punched in the nose defending her honor. This is not George Clooney. Tom is awkward and frustrated, often unable to express his emotions. He's also loyal and brash and all the things women are so often drawn to in the midst of young love. Zooey is a natural as the object of his affection. Tom sees in her only the perfect girl, but Deschanel does an amazing job of projecting something hidden underneath what he sees. Her performance is subtle, stunning, and only pays off fully at the movie's end. [ read more ]

Film Project: Joe presented a film called Sparks at Sundance, and here are some more details about this film project of his:
SPARKS is a 23-minute short film adapted from the Elmore Leonard short story of the same name. That fiery image of feminine intrigue is Carla Gugino, and Eric Stoltz also stars in it.
I've RECorded a lot of videos, even used film now and again, but this is the first time I've ever gotten to don the traditional writer/director hat. We finally finished the damn thing late last year. This last january, it had the distinct honor of premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. I can't think of a venue more sanctified in my psyche than Sundance, and I'm thusly grateful for such an opportunity. I RECorded a bunch of it too.
Oh, now you want to see the movie? Well, you'll have to wait. We're working out the technicalities of putting it out there.
