Try these weekend observing targets

From:  cs.astronomy.com
Did you ever find yourself out under a clear, dark sky in November wondering what to look at? How about targeting a few objects in the constellation Pegasus , one of my favorite autumn constellations. Here are some suggestions: Galaxy NGC 7479 is one of the most popular objects for viewing in the constellation, as it shows a distinct, nearly face-on barred spiral structure. Photos of NGC 7479 appear frequently in astronomy magazines and on the web and give this object a familiar form. This... Read Full Story

Secrets About Orion Telescope

Ordered this, a 13% moon filter, and 3x barlow. Took longer to unpack and take inventory of the parts than it did to put it together. Easy instructions and certainly well protected for shipping. Mount is easy to swing but not easy enough to get free wheeling. Main mirror needed slight adjustment which took about 2 minutes to fix. Alignment with spotting scope was equally as easy. Overall, did not have any problems or any issues that weren’t easily addressed by the instructions. Did my... Read Full Story

Best Orion Refractor Telescope Info On The Internet

I’m very pleased with this telescope. I’ve always looked up at the stars in wonder, now I can see more then I thought were out there. This is a great starter scope, from what I’ve been told by people who love this hobby. The telescope lets you view the sky to see stars you can’t see with your eyes. I’m disappointed in the eye piece you receive with it though. The field of view is very narrow, hard to find the stars you want to see. I was given a wide angle eye piece, to use from a friend... Additional Orion Refractor Telescope Information

Rate myself as a casual observer, many years ago into astronomy as a teen with my first 60mm refractor which still survived thru the years. Now with the wonderful Goto Scopes quickly drew me back into the hobby. Focused on highly portable ones as even my heavier 6 inch Dynamax Schmidt Cassegrain collected dust so sold it. Currently use the famed ETX90 with Autostar, Celestron 102mm F/10 (4 inch) Refractor, and recently purchased Orion’s compact 120mm (4.7 inch) F/5 Refractor. On my first... Read Full Story
