unidentified amateur radio operator helped a Bridgeport couple save their home from flames Tuesday night. Mary and Bruce Hotchkiss returned to their Pegler Boulevard home around 8 p.m. As Bruce was backing the truck into the driveway the two noticed smoke coming from their single-story house. So they called for help on the ham radio set that sits in the middle of their pickup truck's dashboard. Their call reached an operator on the other side...
