Teen Mom Amber Charged With Two Felonies

As expected, Teen Mom Amber Portwood has been charged with two felonies related to a televised incident where she attacked ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley. The stakes are high for Amber Portwood, who faces a fine of up to $10,000 and a maximum sentence of three years in jail.

According to TMZ, exact charges have not yet been filed on Portwood and she has not yet been arrested. A police spokesperson from Anderson, Indiana told the website that Amber Portwood is being charged with two felonies because her violent act towards Shirley took place in the presence of children. The child present was 23-month-old baby Leah, the daughter of Portwood and Shirley and the reason the two are famous in the first place. Unfortunately for Teen Mom Amber, Leah wasn’t the only witness to the crime. Instead, all of America, including local authorities saw it. As a legal expert said at the time, police did not have a choice of whether to prosecute the 20-year-old Portwood or not. Since it was caught on video, it didn’t require Gary Shirley to press charges in order to launch the investigation which is concluding with these charges.

Currently Leah is living with Gary Shirley, who is broken up with Amber Portwood.
