Tyra's Official Statement On Paulina's Dismissal

Last week, former supermodel Paulina Porizkova announced she'd been fired from her post as a judge on America's Next Top Model. Exhibiting the same brusque honesty that had contestants cringing on the show, Paulina hypothesized that her displeasure at having been made to wait up to six hours for Tyra to show up for filming might have had some role in her dismissal.

As expected, Tyra Banks and Ken Mok, ANTM's executive producers, have issued a joint statement about Paulina's dismissal, blaming the economy for budgeting issues.
The current state of the economy has forced shows to make major budget cuts industry wide. America's Next Top Model is not immune to these financially challenging times. We've had to make significant cuts in every area of the production and, unfortunately, Paulina was a casualty of these cuts.

Tyra, who pursued Paulina to join the show as a judge multiple times, was incredibly saddened by the decision the show was forced to make. We really enjoyed working with Paulina, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Meanwhile, Paulina told TV Guide that a lot of makeup and hair people were fired as well, adding, "And I shouldn’t say this because this sounds bitter. But if Tyra came in on time, they would save somebody’s salary. If she actually showed up on time for the judgings and they didn’t have to pay a lot of overtime, they would save a lot of money."
Expect Paulina and Tyra to hug it out on Tyra's talk show sometime soon. Or not.
