Before I get started recapping tonight's Atlanta auditions, let me first apologize for my lazy AI "recap" last Tuesday, and my total absence a day later for the 6th episode of the season.  Derrick and I still don't have DVR installed, and we had plans that evening that prevented us from viewing the show.  Anyway . . . tonight's episode of AMERICAN IDOL, though still short of the "bad auditions" we used to love, was probably the best of the season, with some truly great auditions full of a mix of talent, emotion, and heart-warming moments. Derrick and I both agree that self-described "small ... Read Full Story

The first thing I did this morning when I woke up was check dialidol . Really. It’s an illness, I can admit that now, when its almost over and I don’t have to think about it again until I go to the concert in July. Anyway, I wanted to see what dialidol had to say about who was gonna win American Idol . It says David Cook . And dialidol has never been wrong. At least it has never been wrong for this week, for the final winner. My mother won’t even discuss it. She has already decided that David Archuleta is the winner ... Read Full Story

I'm not quite sure what to make of tonight's episode of AMERICAN IDOL . . . it was a night of previously un-aired random auditions . . . good and bad . . . culled from the previous 7 shows of the current season.  I may be wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen the show do this before.  I won't get into any specifics on the contestants we saw tonight, other than to say I was VERY HAPPY to see the producers give some airtime to the HOT twins from Carolina . . . Chris and Cory Lane!  While the guys offered ... Read Full Story

I know I am now a little johnny-come-lately to this, but I wasn't able to compose a posting last night due to plans with friends, but how shocked is everyone that Michael Johns was eliminated from AMERICAN IDOL last night?? I didn't even have Michael pegged for the "Bottom 3" (which also included Carly Smithson and Syesha Mercado . . . as predicted), and here he is voted off of the show now! WOW!! Some are calling this the most shocking elimination in AI history, and there are even hints of a conspiracy theory and that the show is rigged. I don't know about ... Read Full Story

It was showtunes night (or more specifically Andrew Lloyd Webber night) on AMERICAN IDOL this evening, and one of W&D;'s favorite contestants faltered big time . . . and may just find herself going home tomorrow night. But more on that in a bit. Derrick and I both agree that the best of show award goes to David Archuleta and his unique take on "Think of Me" . . . the boy was absolutely fantastic even if seemingly lost track of his vocals for a nanosecond. I think the new arrangement was fabulous, and I imagine that this will be a definite Itunes purchase ... Read Full Story
