Recap American Idol 7: Top 3 Results

America, it’s now down to David Cook or David Archuleta as your next American Idol. Going into last night’s results show we all pretty much knew that Syesha would be going home. What I still don’t understand is why it took them 55 minutes to tell her?

Here’s how it all went down, in case you missed it. The Top 3 performed “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now.” Every time I see one of these chessy group numbers it takes me back to the Partridge Family days. On top of that, in a few weeks thousands of American parents will cough up anywhere from $75 to over $200 for each concert ticket to see these group songs live. Come on people! We’ve got high gas prices, summer vacations and mortgages to pay.
Fantasia came back to the A.I. stage to sing “Bore Me.” Then David Archuleta was summoned to stage. Before Ryan told him to move to the chairs they showed a video of his trip back home to Utah and how he made it to the Top 3 on Idol. Syesha was brought on stage next. It was her turn to share a video journal home to Sarasota, Florida and her Idol journey. David Cook was brought on stage last and he, too, shared his two videos. After 56 million votes, the Top 2 of David Archuleta and David Cook were announced.
