Lt. Reynold Humber of the Rusk County Sheriff's Office holds a portrait of Amora Bain Carson.

When police found 13-month old Amora Bain Carson dead in her Henderson, Tex., home, the girl's mother and a "friend" (we'll call him a friend for now) had a string of strange explanations for the infant's condition.
The
Tyler Morning Telegraph reports that those explanations ranged from a car crash to a dog attack, and even included an unlikely story about how the girl beat herself in the head with a hammer. But the truth might be stranger than fiction.
Upon being pressed, the two admitted to beating Amora to death, and say they believed her to be possessed by a demon. The beatings, the bitemarks and the hammer blows were all part of an exorcism ritual the two believed would expell the demons.
The Telegraph continues:
An arrest affidavit states Milam performed an exorcism of the demons possessing their child. The affidavit continues to state after Milam killed the child with Carson looking on the couple “drove to Henderson to pawn some items to pay for an exorcism.”
Officials said Milam and Carson told detectives they decided to hire a priest after the exorcism went badly.
However, Humber said there was no information of any clergy being called to the home. Here's some unfounded speculation. Maybe the couple was completely messed up on some sort of crystal meth, killed an innocent child and drove to a pawn shop to get more drug money. Maybe that's why "clergy" were never "called to the home."
I'm not saying that's what happened, but it seems far more likely than one of them calling a priest
AFTER they killed Carson's infant daughter.
What do you think? Did Carson and Milam even believe the child was possessed?
