Amy Farris, 40, an Austin fiddle player, who most recently toured with Dave Alvin and the Guilty Women, died this past weekend. No cause of death was cited in news reports. Amy Farris, a well-known fiddle player in both the Austin and Los Angeles music scene, passed away this weekend, according to a Twitter message by her friend Kelly Willis. "My dear sweet friend Amy Farris died over the weekend," Willis posted to her Twitter account Sept. 30. "Together we weren't exactly fearless. But we did it anyway. I'm devastated."
