His widow actress Amy Yasbeck, Jimmy Kimmel, and muralist Eloy Torrez were in attendance at the dedication ceremony on Friday. Amy Yasbeck , widow of John Ritter, was photographed with their 11-year-old daughter Stella Dorothy heading to the doctors office in Beverly Hills, CA on Tuesday (September 1). The mother-daughter duo smiled and waved at the paparazzi. On September 11, 2003, Ritter died from an aortic dissection stemming from a previously undiagnosed congenital heart defect. Jurors in a Los Angeles suburb have cleared two doctors of negligence in the death of actor John Ritter. By a vote of 9-3 vote, the jury decided the cardiologist and radiologist were not negligent for not discovering that Ritter had a torn aorta in his heart. Evidence shows that another doctor who performed a body scan on Ritter two years prior to his death suggested a follow-up with treatment by a physician, but Ritter didn't follow through.
