Niklaus Leuenberger






Niklaus Leuenberger has faced many challenges during his long and rich professional career in the hospitality industry. He got his earliest experience working as an assistant front office manager for Hotel International in Basel, Switzerland. Shortly after that he gained the Food and Beverage Manager position with the Peninsula Hotel in Manila, Philippines. This was just the beginning of a long career with this organization.

After his Philippines hospitality experience, Niklaus Leuenberger moved to Hong Kong to gain even more management experience at the Marco Polo hotel, which he prepared for its opening. For the most of the 1980s, he stayed in Asia including two years working as the executive assistant manager and resident manager at the Peninsula Hong Kong and opening another luxury Jianguo hotel in Beijing, China. This particular hotel was the first joint-venture hotel in China and Niklaus Leuenberger showed that it is possible to operate such a location efficiently. Therefore Peninsula group took advantage of his experience and made him the youngest general manager in the company\'s history at China\'s largest hotel structure, the Garden hotel.

Due to his significant results and his professional skills, his name has become well known within the Peninsula hotel group. The company rewarded him by giving him the general manager position at the Peninsula New York hotel. Since Niklaus Leuenberger was exposed to international environment for long time, he easily fit into his latest challenge of international luxury hotel business.
