Russian International and Zenit St.Petersberg playmaker Andrei Arshavin is all set to become a gunner with a four and a half year contract for a pay of £110,000 per week as he completed a medical earlier in the day and Arsenal had also been reassured that there would be no problem securing a work permit because Arshavin is a regular in the Russian side.Arshavin's deal was fast tracked as the winter transfer window is nearing its end and Arsenal are desperate to find a player who can give them that cutting edge and creativity in the midfield after the gunners suffered a long list of injuries including Rosicky,fabregas,eduardo to name a few.Arshavin's transfer fee is still undisclosed and Arshavin himself payed £2.35m loyalty bonus back to Zenit as he was still under an active contract with Zenit till now.

Arshavin had chosen the number 13 to be on his back after he learnt that his favourite number 10 was already taken by senior William Gallas.The deal could have or have not gone through as both clubs failed to reach an agreement. But all three parties appeared no closer this afternoon but a breakthrough was achieved through high-level boardroom discussions between both clubs.
