The game remained a brutal scoreless game until Iniesta was able to get the ball behind the crossbar, though he got a yellow card for being offsides during the play. It was worth it.

John Heitinga (Getty) Sergio Ramos of Spain missed a crucial header that should have resulted in a goal in the 77th minute of play, and it was definitely a disappointment for the team early on. Fans and players were certainly at the edge of their seats while watching the intense game, as neither team had ever won a World Cup, until now, of course.

Yellow cards were handed out like crazy with John Heitinga was given his second and thrown out of the game in the 108th minute. Spanish player Carles Puyol was given a yellow card in the first 15 minutes of play. Gregory Van Der Wiel of the Netherlands was given a yellow card in the 111th minute after grabbing a Spanish player on the shin.
