From an article at cbs2.com:
A Los Angeles city employee was placed on administrative leave Wednesday as reports surfaced that he is under investigation in the rape of a woman in his downtown condo.
KFI radio reported that Andrew Adelman, general manager of the city's Department of Building and Safety department, is being investigated in the sexual assault of a woman on July 10 over the course of several hours.
Adelman has not been arrested or charged.
The LAPD issued a statement confirming that a "city employee" was being investigated for sexual assault. Police did not name the employee under investigation citing "the serious nature of the allegation" and "reasons of confidentiality."
Within an hour of the report, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa sent a letter to Adelman, placing him on paid administrative leave.
According to reports, the victim told investigators she went out drinking with friends July 10 and blacked out after sharing a beer with Adelman while watching an outdoor concert at the Music Center. She alleges she awoke to find herself being sexually assaulted by Adelman in his condo.
After the alleged attack, which lasted several hours, Adelman drove the woman, whose name was not released, back to her car.
