Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT and G

I love MGMT so much!  So much that I was actually afraid to meet them.  Not because I was scared of getting tongue tied or anything like that.  I feared that if I met them and they were dicks, I’d hate their music and I’ve spent too many hours loving every note!  Well, I am pleased to report that Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser were not just nice, they were EXTREMELY nice!  They both posed for photos with me and while Ben wanted to beat the heat and go where it was air-conditioned, Andrew VanWyngarden autographed 5 CD covers for me too!  I got both of their albums signed, as well as the “Kids” and “Time To Pretend” import CD singles, as well as the original “Time To Pretend EP” (that has totally different versions of that song and “Kids” on it).  VanWyngarden initially said that he would not sign anything in blue sharpie, which is all I had with me, to avoid people selling on Ebay.  As I could never part with my cherished MGMT CDs, I asked if he would personalize them to prove that I would be keeping them.  He gladly did so, and I am so thankful to the guys for making such great music and for being so nice!
